I had a concrete floor installed in my pole barn a few weeks back. I noticed that a couple of the sections look white while the rest of the barn looks greyish. Also, the troweling marks are more prevelant in the section that is white as well.

What do you think is going on? Is it worthwhile to bring to the attention of the contractor? Thanks in advance!

Yeah just about every concrete slab I had poured has done the same thing as the pictures you showed. One of my slabs for a while had a mottled appearance and once completely cured had the white appearance

Opinion…..something is different there in the forefront of that photo. If it was just placed yesterday, I wouldn’t think that there should be that significant color difference. Did I say this was just my opinion?

I don't know how much concrete was needed but I suspect that difference could be due to it coming from more than one truck.

Give the contractor a call, as said it's properly nothing.

Also since it's nice a open, you should Google: "Do I need a concrete densifier?"

The sun can shine on that section, so the surface has less visible moisture than the portions of the slab that are in the shade all the time.

My south facing barn slab did the same thing once I quit wetting it. Now it is all one uniform color.
