New Pole Barn Flooring

I currently have a 64 x 48 shell with a 64 x 10 overhang. Will be having a concrete floor poured in the next couple months. I will eventually have a car lift installed. Putting in overhead heating. Walls will be insulated and finished with metal sheeting on the inside. Metal ceiling with blown insulation. Location is central Ohio. Questions:

1. If we need roughly 46 cubic yards of concrete what would an installed price be? Using a 4" pad everywhere except where the car lift is installed at 6".

2. We are installing vertical 2" XPS foam at the base, 36" below the concrete slab. Thoughts on 36" vs. 24"? 24" would cost half as much.

You'll find it's pretty difficult to get accurate cost information. Prices vary greatly across the country. Hell, they vary greatly between local bidders. Are you looking for cost to place and finish or full prep (fine grade?, vapor barrier? wire, bar or fiber?, etc)

With regard to your second question; are you trenching to install the vertical insulation or do you have frost walls? I'm not clear on the detail. Are you insulating under the slab too?

1. I haven't done concrete in a long time so I am somewhat surprised by the variance in quotes. They range from $12K to $20K. I am looking for the cost to final grade (I am providing the gravel), vapor barrier, fiber only, pour and finish.

2. Trenching/hand digging to depth for vertical insulation only. I expect a vapor barrier under the concrete but no insulation under the slab.

This might work as a reference point.

I had a 40'x30' pole barn done in Western NY last year. The thickness was 4". The barn included a 40'x8' overhang and a 24'x10' apron up to the 16' garage door. The entire cost was ~9500. That included a lot of stone that was brought in. No insulation. That was a cash deal.

I would call a couple of contractors and get a quote. The ready mix companies usually can suggest finishers.
