New pole barn getting started

I'm building a 30x30x12 with 2-12x10 doors, 2 man doors, 10x30 lean-to on the north side and 10x30 apron on the west side.

So far 210yd^3 of fill, and ~6hr of grading and the site is getting close to ready.

Here I am with my kids watching the work...

Looks great! One question though. dont they usually pour the concrete before they put the building up? Is it a Cleary building? also, how much did you pay for it? Thats a nice style building!

It's a Hoover building. They're only in SC. They pour concrete after for these. They build the building and the skirt boards are the form for the concrete. Additional forms will be built for the porch and driveway.

With 31yds of concrete(includes extending driveway), me doing the electrical and plumbing and the initial grading work ~$25K.

Yep, our property goes down a pretty big hill to a creek. Now I just have to reclaim the hillside from the kudzu.

I went to Lowes and got my air compressor, and most of the electrical stuff tonight. I got the Kobalt 80gal compressor(14CFM@90psi), 500 feet of copper, ton of outlets, switches, T8 fixtures. I'm gonna need about 10 volunteers to set this 540# beast of an air compressor on its pad once the concrete is poured, so if you're in upstate SC start signing up... ;-)
They are supposed to start work on the concrete tomorrow, finally!

The concrete is FINALLY coming!!! They did the fine grading today, doing the exterior forms tomorrow morning, concrete right after that.

The door guys hung the main doors today too. They'll finish adjusting them once the concrete is in. The 8x8 door that opens onto the porch was ordered wrong, so that won't be in this week, probably.

I'm having it poured all the way to the existing driveway(about 35 feet). All total, there is 1500sqft of concrete in the garage and ~875sqft in the driveway addition. ~31yds to pour tomorrow.

Jones'in bad for a set up like yours! Can't wait to see the results of the pour!!

Would love to have the drive concreted or paved but that'll have to wait until we win the Lottery.

Eric and Bill, from Wolverine Coatings, came over today to bring the 1501 sealer for my concrete. We'll be working together to get my floor done and more info to everyone on their products. Here we are mixing the first batch of sealer-

Eric is holding the can, I'm running the drill.

I stopped by Lowes on the way home and picked up this sprayer($18). It's probably going to be a one use sprayer. I tried cleaning it out but there are some solids in the bottom of it and they're clogging the uptake.

Here is the Wolverine coatings epoxy going down. I chose a blue epoxy with blue/white/gray color chips.

That's a thermometer on top of the door, we had been running a kerosene heater and dehumidifier in there for a few days. I was 59deg inside, ~40 outside.

Yep, I'll be putting the clear coat on tonight. When we get back from visiting family after Jan1 it will be ready to use. I'm looking forward to visiting, but I really would like to start using the garage.

We started to split the first batch, but I wasn't sure that I got it split perfectly so I went ahead and did the whole 3 gallons. That was enough for 225ft^sq.

I do like the blue, I've wondered about doing a blue or green for the floor, something other than the standard gray.
