new post/go to first unread post markers

is there a way to make the new post markers stay longer? from what i can tell if you're "inactive" for 10 or so minutes all the new post markers reset. sometimes i get caught up in longer threads with lots of reading or pics to stare at or get distracted by tv or cooking or something and they all get reset on me. thats frustrating after that when you then go to other long posts and have to search around for where you last read it. a little longer time limit before reset would be really nice

I agree: longer timeout would be good, best would be to let the user decide when to mark something read -- either by reading it, or by explicitly clicking a "mark all read" button. It is annoying to have the forum software decide for me what I have or haven't read!

I am in the same boat, I spend hours on the site a day and constantly have that happen to me
