Hello folks,
I just ran across this forum searching for info on my old Snap-On AT700E air ratchet, and wondered if you could point me in the right direction. Snap-On has no dealers in the area near Asheboro, NC. I received an email from Snap-On telling me that they can repair my AT700E for $110. The wrench has been used maybe 10 times. It was purchased in 1995, and looks unused. It froze up years ago, and I had forgotten I even owned it until my latest household move from Texas to NC. The head will not turn, and it blows air most of the time. Other times, it runs continuously and won't turn off even if the trigger is released. Looking at Ebay shows this wrench selling used for less than $110, and most of the sellers tell you in their ads that their wrench is messed up and needs service. If anyone can point me to a possible repair or some known issue that I can investigate, I will try a repair. Otherwise, please advise on the model of a good replacement. While a Snap-On would be fine, I would prefer a U.S.A-made model, or at least one that will actually hold up to light use. My 1/2" Snap-On Impact has been used quite often, and has no issues. Maybe my mistake has been not using this thing?
Thanks!
