Our house is currently being built and I feel like my wife and I have decided on epoxy for the garage floor. Our builder is clear to not seal the concrete. Are there any other instructions he should be given to ease obtaining a sandpaper like texture to the concrete once we are ready to install the epoxy? Also, any recommendations on epoxy product would be helpful! Currently looking at Performance Epoxy-Coat.

Thanks in advance,
Tyler

No matter what.... you will be etching or grinding. An acceptable surface and porosity level cannot be reached through surface finish during pour.

Ask for a smooth finish, no slick troweling or over troweling.

Make sure you use a primer!!

Hi
Epoxy Coat does not offer a primer and we like most vendors here strongly recommend using a primer. Our Armorclad Primer is compatible with Epoxy Coat if you go that route, but when you mix products from different vendors, if there is a problem, generally no one will take the blame, so best to use a vendor that offers a complete system. There are a number of vendors here, including us that offer these products.
