Last week had the old epoxy removed & new polyurea put down. Full flake + a polyaspartic top coating. Very happy with the results. 3 guys (two for grinding / clean up, 3 for the applications) started at about 8:30 and wrapped up around 7:00. 546 sq. ft. for $4500. I know a lot of guys DIY these, but simply beyond my skill level. Biggest surprise? How much flake they had to put down to cover it. Think it was six 5 gallon buckets. Thought I'd share for anyone hiring it out. Next step is New Age cabinets along the back wall. garagebefore.jpggaragemid1.jpggaragmid2.jpggaragefinished3.jpggaragefinished2.jpg

Looks good...the full flake with topcoat is game changer. Hides alot of imperfections and future damages from using the floor.
I recently did this for my FIL's garage, as a DIY. I used 8 bags of the rustoleum flakes and a two car "Professional Garage Coating" Kit with the oil based epoxy. Not the ones from Lowes/HD (those are water based).

I topped it with some the EpoxyShield Clear.

$4,500 seems high but probably right these days.
The grinding/diamond bits aren't cheap. I used a floor grinder/vacuum (borrowed) but those are $400/day rental plus the bits are $300 and wear out after one job.

It took me 3 days (Day 1 Grind/wash/dry, Day 2 coat/flake, Day 3 Clearcoat).

That looks good. I did the same thing in my garage, with the assistance of a garage interior designing service. The outcome exceeded my expectations. I believe that polyurea is superior to epoxy resin. Anyway, the price is a little high, but the result is good, so it's worth it. I initially attempted to do it myself, but soon realised that a professional service was required to complete it properly.
