Should get here by Thursday. It’s a 6517-20 super Sawzall with the quick lok cord. Most parts are still available surprisingly.

My bet is it’s something to do with either the cord, the switch, or the remote speed control.

Those are pretty simple. I rebuilt an older one, got it for $5. Should be a fun little project. EReplacementparts, or zoro for parts.

Did the same thing, but on craigslist.

Unfortunately, after all the replacement bearings, seals, etc., I could have just bought a new one.

Yeah, but it would be cheap Chinese ****. At least these were robust. Look up Milwaukee sawzall for parts not working on e-bay and you will see the Chinese models outnumber the USA ones 3 to 1

I have more questions than answers.
I have the same one. After about the 10 or 15 year point the wobble drive went out. I took it into a local certified Milwaukee repair shop. Milwaukee paid for the repair!!! I was more than pleasantly surprised. Just a thought for you.

Not only did they make corded tools, but they made them here in the USA and they were nearly indestructible!

I bet so they are still pretty indestructible but not as much I am sure.

Judging by the amount of new Chinese Milwaukee tools found on eBay under “for parts, not working” I would Say so

Oh lol I haven’t seen that I use Porter Cable power tools as a professional mechanic and they work great

I loved the old made in USA PorterCable tools. I have rebuilt an old PC right angle drill and a recip saw. Great tools when made in USA. Then Black and Decker bought them and like everything else they touch, it turned to poop. Chinese made **** to sell to joe homeowner at Lowe’s. On par with the old Black and decker firestorm line. Two great American tool manufacturers who sold out to China. Very sad.

The heavy plastic with the tan/gray color from the 80's and 90's were absolutely top notch.
