I am in the process of purchasing 33 acres which is 95% wooded. There is one flat spot that is already cleared out which I plan to park my 28ft camper on. I do not plan on living there but it is a weekend get away where I can hunt and ride ATV's. My future plans are to build a garage with a living quarters in it once I get power, water, and sewer. But for now my plans are to build a picnic shelter that is large enough to park my camper under and a place to hang out under in the shade until we build the garage. I was also thinking of incorporating a screened in porch into the picnic shelter. Again this property will be used for hunting and riding atv's. Does anyone have any good ideas or thoughts on some options? Or if there are any similar threads you can point me to that would be great.

Put up a pole building without walls. When you re ready you can close it in and have a garage.

Or buy 2 40ft conx containers and put trusses across them with a breezeway between them, this way you will have covered open space for while you are there and 2 lockable storage areas for when you are away.

How thick and what type of tree's do you have on your land? You can do a "select cut" of your tree's to help fund your garage or what-ever you build. I had my 60 acre's select cut a few years ago, it actually does the forest good. I just purchased another 20 acres that I am going to have select cut also. You can do this about every 20-25 yrs depending on your tree growth and type.

The property was select cut about 15 years ago. I think there is a lot of poplar on it. Not sure about hardwoods. I am going to go take a hike on this week sometime.

I commend you for getting your own property to ride ATVs on. Too many people here think any property not covered with houses is theirs to ride on.
