Ordered a new QT54 about a month ago and due to delays in shipping just picked it up yesterday from Lowes. I live out in the sticks so its not easy to just run to a local dealer and pick one up. Here is what I received from Quincy. I contacted them immediately since it states to not return to the store. Masking tape on tank, chipping on the crank case, cooling fins, missing filter, and a crater at the end of the cap of the weld. Quincy said send pics but what would you be requesting to make this right? Ive already lost about 6 hrs driving and over a month of waiting only to receive this unit whose welds alone wouldnt pass any ND tests. According to the serial number the lady said it was just built and shipped out the 18th.

An authorized Quincy service tech came right to my home when I had warranty repairs done to my QT54 back in 2012. Repairs required three visits to correct everything. Appearance wise, mine looked mint, but had a pump issue that required finally replacing the pump. Has worked flawless since.

The one you received looks like a piece of garbage to me. And when did they start using winkle finish on the tanks? I think I would strongly consider returning for refund and go with another brand if this is what this model has become.

From what CS said a couple of months ago they switched to that darker wrinkle finish a couple of years ago. Its more like really bad orange peel and not feeling the darker blue but I understand its just a color that doesn't affect functionality. For that huge hole at the end of the weld yeah I can just bust out my 280 and tig it and make sure its done the right way. Didnt even bother wiring it until after they get back to me Monday. Not loading it back up and taking it back since my time will not be compensated. I've been looking for one on Craigslist and marketplace but no dice. Hoping Quincy makes it right because the only acceptable option will be to replace it with the next level up or write me a check for the price of the unit and come pick it up. I know others on here have had QA issues and after multiple attempts was made right by quincy. I work in a refinery so that weld would have me or any one of my friends rolling up shown the exit gate. Trust me I'm pissed.
