SnapLock® Industries, the manufacturer of RaceDeck® Garage Flooring, introduces their multi-patented ShockTower® Technology to the RaceDeck Garage Flooring product line.
The ShockTower® patented system incorporates eight independent shock absorbers, or ShockTowers, per square foot to attenuate sound and reduce stress on joints and muscles. This modular floor system is manufactured with TWO distinctly different materials molded into ONE floor.
ShockTower technology was first introduced nearly six years ago for the modular sports flooring line SnapSports®. Since that time, ShockTower revolutionized the modular sports flooring world and SnapSports has emerged as the industry champion.
“Our engineers spent a lot of time devoping ShockTower for the harsh garage environment and they hit it out of the park on this one,” said Jorgen Moller, CEO SnapLock® Industries.
The new system is fully compatible with all current RaceDeck® garage flooring styles. The customer also has the choice of doing their entire garage with ShockTower. Suggested applications include workstations, walkways, commercial and residential garages, or any environment where the user would benefit from a consistent, quiet and low-impact surface

Interesting - any better pictures of the "shocks"?

They are coming... You can look at the same ShockTower techology in action on our Sports Flooring line up that we have had in the market for around 6 years. The garage uses a different shock and material to meet the demands of the garage, but similar concept.

This sounds interesting. Is this available in all current Race deck colors? Can it be used in conjunction with standard race deck or does it have a different installed height? How much per tile compared to standard?

Yes it is available in all color of our Diamond and CircleTrac RaceDeck and you can use it together with the standard RD as well. With you GJ discount it cost the same to upgrade to ShockTower as it does for TuffShield.

I have to say, with a name like SHOCK TOWERS, I was expecting more exciting and dramatic pictures. That being said, great idea.

That's fair... it is a simple idea with a big result - we invented about 6 years ago for our sports flooring line and has since become the top rated modular sports flooring product in the world - Providing shock absorption for athletes, easing impact to players bodily joints.. Hi, I am newbie here. I am redoing my garage and came across this forum (and Racedeck). Tomorrow, I am going to finalize and complete the purchase of my Racedeck flooring. The only question now is (ok, my wife is deciding) with or without ShockTower. But, I could not find any buyer reviews or opinions on it.

Has anyone purchased Racedeck with Shocktower?

Will it make my Racedeck "spongy"? I hope that makes sense. Thanks ahead for any response.

Welcome to the forum!
You probably haven't read any buyer reviews or opinions on it because it hasn't been released yet. This is just the announcement of it's pending release.
This should help narrow your decision

Much much extra for the "shocks"

It's extra but not "much much" ;) There are 16 individual shock-absorbers per foot and is less than a buck a foot upgrade ( = around $350 to $500 for an entire garage or just a few bucks for various sections where you want it. )

they will handle the load and rebound back after the car rolls off.

Like with all RaceDeck products, you can use all our styles of garage flooring throughout the garage together ( a unique feature ). To save money, you can just use in the work area or along foot traffic paths too.

I like to exercise in the garage...doing P90x or Insanity or kickboxing on RD tiles is awesome....this just makes it even better and safe on joints when doing plyometrics/jumping exercises.

Moreover, the floor is great for kids to play on...having shock technology makes it even more comfortable and safe. I have 2 year olds who are stumbling around all the time and are already doing art activities on the racedeck.

So, after reading these posts, this is something you can add to your existing tiles? Or do you have to buy new tiles with the shocks installed/molded into the tile?

Jorgen, I'm curious. How does this affect the occasional click clack noise that people complain about with interlocking tiles? Any change?

All surfaces, including suspended surfaces have their own unique sound. With our patent ShockTower it muffles sound up to - 30% - though this is not the main performance feature of the ShockTower, it will address the very small percentage of people who want to quite a floor.

I, too, read posts about the noise made by walking on the plastic tiles. After having RaceDeck a month or so, I have yet to hear a clacking or clicking noise. No idea what the deal is. And, yes, my ears are ok.
