Hi I am Allan of West Australia and Have e website that sells all types of tools and accessories This being my first post on the garage journal please forgive any mistakes and let me know if I make any,
Selling tools I am always searching for any new tools coming onto the market and Dewalt are now bringing out a 20 volt range of cordless tools ,I have not found out why this is so because they have an 18 volt and a 24 volt range .The only reason that I can work out is that they plan to delete the 18 volt range which would be a diaster for the people who have the 18 volt range::confused:

Not absolutely sure but I remember reading the new line is a brushless design - the result is more power & reliability.

From my limited understanding the 20 volt battery is technically an 18volt battery that has five 3.6-volt cells. But if I am understanding things correctly Dewalt wants to go with a slide-on design that is not compatible with the stem-style batteries on the old Dewalt cordless tools.

But if you ask me I think they want to keep changing designs every few years to get more money out of your pocket...You be the Judge of that.

slide-on > stem.

Most manufactures still offer the battery's regardless they just stop offering the tools eventually.

I dont see the problem.
