i just bought a band new F80 ratchet from snap on,


do you guys take it apart right away and lube it?

or do you wait until it needs lube?


just curious as what i should do?

If it's not broke, don't try to fix it.....
I don't feel fine tooth ratchets like the RLL ****. A couple of drops of air tool oil or BreakFree CLP does the trick nicely should you feel the need.
You really need to just use and break the ratchet in before messing with it but, that's just me.

The gearwrench have snap-ring, us snap-ring pliers.

Just use the ratchet.

do not open it. if you take it apart they are fun to put back together if you do not know where the parts go exactly.... but once you do one they are easy

ahhh, well im looking for another with the nice grip, and then of course i now need the 1/2'' big brother, and little brother for 1/4''..even though its not dual 80, i still want it now.


i was hoping they had a nice case for all 3 ratchets to lay in my tool box.

I didn't oil them when they were new. As was posted, only a snap ring holds them together. I don't think it could get any easier to take apart.

Yeah.. when first FLF80 came out, i used it for a week and i love it. you know what i did after one week of used FLF80- bought FK80 and FL80 same time..... But when i saw FHLF100 came out, i had to use it. i am glad that i got it! my work think i have tool addicted!! But end of day, techs would ask to borrow or want try it... some of techs are too cheap to get their own!!!

oops it is FHLF100... it is new snap on ratchet that has 100 tooth round ratchet... But it is weird because i did check the snap on website and it dont show any FHLF100.....
