--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Heres where I'm at on the build after one day today. Started out renting a truck and getting materials from Menards. That was a train wreck!! Those people are Idiots! Used up my first hr of Rental in the store while they screwed up everything. manager was cool though and only charged me the $18.95. It was 100 in Chicago today!! So I opened the door from the house and cranked the air up. Put a fan in the doorway. Kept it at 78' in there.Built the foundation and three walls in there.Tomorrow its only gonna be 70' so thats good. Gonna set some level blocks and haul it out there. Last pic is what I'm looking for when its done. Just a 4' deeper and built allot better. Not tomention its bigger and half the price!! I;m going to use Vinyl siding to match the house. the 4x4's are treated anf I have 3/4 treated ply for the deck.

I'm interested in the materials cost if you're willing to share. I need to build something similar about that size.

Are you thinking of building a ramp for the door or just gonna use it to store yard tools?
I love you didn't buy a metal fab shed...looks like its beefy and will stand the test of time!!!

Well done, something around the bottom to act as a rat wall, or if it is a wet area I would use some kind of wire. keeps the critters out. looks good.

Looking good brent I would bet with enough " man power " on Saturday you could have the roof sheeted and shingled by the end of the day :D.

Can you post any pics of the door details? And pics of the window from inside? Did you have to shim it or just put it in? What hinges are you using for the doors and what about a latch/lock?

A shed at one of my former residences was skirted with galvanized hardware cloth. The cloth extended down into the ground several inches. IIRC, the hardware cloth was about a 3/8 or 1/2 inch mesh. It made a nice skirt ... kept most varmits out and let the underside of the shed floor breath.

Doors look good. How did you make them? Any tricks for installing the doors and piano hinges? I think I'm going to use the same hinges for mine.

Doors are 30" each And they work perfect with the piano hinges. there made of pressboard siding material. And trimed out in 1x3's The hinges are screwed into the 1x3s. I also put 1x3s on the inside of the doors standding on edge and screwed from the outside to keep the doors from warping.

Really nice work. I will be embarking on a similar, almost identical project in the coming weeks. About the only thing different is I am looking into using a 6' garage door. Other than that it's pretty much our plan of attack.

How did you mount the Shed to the ground ? Did you pour footings for it or some other method. Any plans for adding electric to it ?

Thanks guys. I dug 6" deep holes and filled them with paver gravel and tamped them down. Then i used cement blocks on top of that. my treated 4x4s are sitting on them. i used 9 blocks 3 in front 3 in the middle and 3 in the rear. Didnt want to go through the concrete slab thing. Most likly wouldnt have been aproved as it is!! I'm gonna let it cool off before I run electrical. I think they frown on that.
