I am pretty excited and thought I would share.

A company that builds really big and cool stuff was moving locations and downsizing by about 3 million square feet. In the process they were dumping, trashing, and recycling more stuff than you could imagine, everything from tools, to carts, to medical supplies, to office furniture, etc.

I "know a guy" and, between my dad and I, we ended up getting some really cool stuff:

Two 15" drill presses (1 Rockwell 115v and 1 Delta 460v)
Maximat V10 lathe/mill and misc tooling
Zep parts washer
large grinder (460v)
Two Lista tables (30" x 72") on casters with one column of drawers
One similar Lista table with drawers on both sides
Delta RT 40 cabinet saw
Magnetic sine plate
Air nozzles
Several boxes of rotary 3M Scothbrite pads with the quick change stem
10 or so heavy duty bar clamps
15 or so heavy duty c-clamps
hammer
shears
files
2 24" paper cutters
Several 20 amp 50' electric reels
Shop refrigerator
20 lbs or more of miscellaneous lag screws, nuts, bolts
20 lbs of new toggle clamps
3 pneumatic vacuums
2 pneumatic drills
12" or so arbor press
2 2-door cabinets (18" x 36" x 60")
A bunch of other miscellaneous odds and ends.

It took two trailer loads to get everything and we are supposed to get 5 or 6 Werner ladders in various lengths and some more odds and ends.

Some more (sideways as some may be). There is more, but these photos catch the highlights (minus what I split with my dad and some friends).

One of the Lista tables was locked. I just figured out how to open it and I discovered a brand new Dotco 20k grinder. It is so much better than my cheap Harbor Freight grinder.

I got two vises this week (one is a Morgan Chicago 140). I am supposed to pick up a 230v 3 phase Miller mig welder this weekend.

Congrats, good to see that it will be going to good use, hopefully. There is so much corporate waste in our society it's almost sickening.

Nice score! I always have my ears open for people getting rid of "junk" one of the other plants in outlr company was trashing a bunch of stuff. Ended up with a nice welder that way.

BTW - good for you!

Thanks.

I got a few more items, including a Miller stick welder (that was seriously heavy) and another Bowman drawer rack with 4 Bowman fastener cases, plus a comprehensive assortment of fasteners to fill all 12 of the cases.

I need to build a shop now.
