On the suggestion on GJ members, ...We Finally swapped out the 50 year old fluorescent lights with some USA-Made 18,600 Lumens CLEAR LED shop lights by PrimeLights - Such an amazing change with the bright natural lighting. I may have to do our outside portico and storage areas now too. ( Last Photo is the old lights )
Here is what I went with... great quality and USA-Made too!

I just realized that these fixtures utilize replaceable LED tubes, which, in my mind, puts them miles ahead of the 'disposable' LED fixtures we are all familiar with. Do the LED tubes conform to any particular standard? In other words, would tubes from other manufacturers fit these fixtures?

@cybrdyke - are you familiar with these luminaires? Care to comment?

Yeah, these fixtures fall under the category called "tube-ready", meaning that they are just empty fixtures shells that have been pre-wired for LED tubes. There are lots of companies that make these. You can use any brand of LED tube in them, as long as you know if the fixtures is wired to power the tubes from one end or from both ends.
This manufacturer doesn't tell us who makes the fixture or whose tubes he supplies with these fixtures, but he does tell us all the specs for them. There are only two components in this system....the fixture and the tubes. In my opinion, the LED tube is the important part, so I'd prefer to know who the manufacturer of it is. It's not really important who made the fixture body because it's just painted, formed metal and some sockets. But if it were mine, I'd want to know who made the tubes.
For future maintenance, this fixture will very easy to find replacement tubes for. I recommend tube-ready fixtures frequently.

Can you do me a favor next time you are in the building ? If you have a portable radio with the AM band turn it on between AM channels and see how much noise the lights make in the radio. Even one of the car radios should work.

Thanks,
Bill
