We just built a 24x30 with a 14x30 lean. I needed a building for stuff like yard tools boat and ATV’s. We looked a simple shed on skids then were going to build leans off both sides. By the time I priced that I was not that far off from what we did do.
The building is a simple pole barn with 2 overhead doors one walk in door and insulation. The door on the front is an 18x8 I also have a 8x8 under the shed.
I first had to clear the spot then add dirt. I have my own dozer so that was no big deal. This is a shot after it was framed. I had rained the night before. WET,WET,WET.

This is after they formed. My wife and one of my sons helped me tie the re-bar. The contractor does not use any steel when he builds them. I chose to add ½” re-bar. I drilled each post and drove a 2 foot 5/8 bar in and tied it to the ½” mat. Let me say again. MY WIFE HELPED ME TIE THE RE-BAR.

Here are so of the guys pouring it on Tuesday 11-7-06. They did a great finish job.

I am going to move the propane tank to the left behind the well house. Here is the finished shop. They came Friday 11-10-06 and finished.

I am now installing the lights, openers, and outlets. I will bring the power for my house it is less than a 100’ away.
I will say this was a lot easier that my shop. I just wish I had made my shop twice the size 5 years ago when I built it. The cost has gone up so much in 5 years. Those of you who are saying in a few years do it now. Let me know what you guys think.:)

That's really nice. I wish I could have had that sort of covered attachment to the side of my shop, but they consider it part of the square footage here, and my building is as big as code would allow.

"Did you install a walk in door..........Nice shed. whats the figures run on something like that"

Yes it has a walk in door under the shed. I put it back a little so it would be out of the weather. The basis 24x30 was $7700. With the shed and cement under, insulation, the extra 6 foot on the big door, extra 8x8 door and a baked finish on the doors. The cost went up to 12,600.

If you notice the shed is by the house in the pic of the finished slab you can see my wifes car. It is parked in front of the garage on the house. Also if you look real close you will see how far I put my shop from the house. If I am need there is a long way to come and get me.(smile) By the way I have no one that checks up on what I do here. We are a good ways from our parish seat.

That's great how fast it went up. Looks really good to. Do you have any plans to pave, or even gravel the drive way so you don't have to deal with mud everytime it rains?
