New site question, "first new post button"

Previously, when viewing a forum, I could see all the threads and see which ones had new posts since my last visit.

They had a small icon next to them which would take you to the first new post. I cannot find anything like this in the new forum. Am I missing something?

[I see that you can open the thread and then click the "jump to new" button at the top, but this is 2 clicks and not as convenient.]

If you click “new post” you will only see threads you have not looked at since they’ve been posted in. If you click “watch now“ you will see all the recent posts, but there will be a red “New” button next to the thread with new posts. The threads you have already viewed will not have the red new button.

Yup - I got all that, thanks; before, when I clicked "new posts" I could see all the threads with unread posts. That still works.

However, previously on each thread there was a button that would take me directly to the first new post in the thread, without having to open it to the first page and then click "jump to new".

I'm wondering if there is a "jump to new" option somewhere in the thread list display that I am missing.

Strange, for me, just clicking on the thread will take me to the first unread post.

Once you visit the thread on this new format, any subsequent visits to the same thread will take you to the first unread post in the thread.

The new software doesn't seem to have kept track of previous visits to threads from the old software. So on the first visit to a thread, you'll have to figure out where you left off. But after that, it will work.

I believe you won't see the "NEW" in the cute red box if there has been no updates in the thread since you last visited.

Atleast that's the way it appears to me. However, I'm not sure if as a Mod, I see things slightly different than a regular user like in VB.

That's how it works for me.
