So I have had an SK combo cast Hammer for quite some time. A while back the steel cap separated from the rubber cast head. I have not been particularly rough on the hammer or used it abusively, so I was slightly disappointed. I think the rubber may have just dried up and separated. Anyways, I thought I would ask if it would be replaced, as I had not abused it. My local tool store gave SK a call and they said they would ship one out right away. Store would have replaced the hammer on the spot but did not have in stock. At any rate, it arrived in under a week at my local tool store and I picked it up today. So there you go, I know SK draws lots of criticism on the forum. But I believe this is more proof that Ideal is working very hard to make SK a great brand again with great service. I know I will be purchasing more of their products in the future as my needs arise.

Their warranty has always been like that though...

Eh, not exactly. When they were struggling there were problems with warranty service.

When the company was going down the toilet they weren't great about honoring the warranty or servicing their dealers.

I agree with the OP that Ideal has really focused on this. My experiences with SK in recent years have been top notch.

Ok, I'll agree. I would say in recent history its been mail in or call in and replacements aren't an issue.

Yes it's totally a Nupla. And yes, for a while SK had problems just getting inventory to their dealers let alone warranty brokens. Plus I was just pleasantly surprised they would warranty a hammer seeing how it's sort of a consumable item.

Nupla makes good stuff. Looks somewhat crude but works great and lasts a long time. I have a couple of their body hammers.
