I haven't seen any other impact adapters that looked like this or were made this way. Anyone have any problems with this kind of piece?

The 1/2" M drive is pinned into the 3/4" F housing and looks replaceable.

Yeah, Matco used to sell one like that. You can replace the male part (which is what breaks most often) by pushing in the pin and sliding it out.

AJ Manufacturing make a two piece pinned adapter, that is made in the U.S.A. They hold up pretty well.

My Snap-On 1/2" male to 3/8" female adaptor is that design, but the set I own is stamped not for impact use.

Male square drive portion can be driven out from the outside face and a new portion dropped in the hole and re-seated should either the socket or male drive portion be damaged. 1/2" and below are 2 piece design but use a friction fit with no pin.

Bumping an old thread...

Where can I, if at all, get the insert for this same tool? I use these a lot at work, and we break the insert. Been looking for where I can buy more inserts, can't find them. SK Tools is no help... Probably a lost cause at this point.

Funnily enough, I was looking for something like this, found one made by MAC. Good for times when you need to drive the male drive end (like a coupler of sorts) with your impact.
