I'm not a professional wrencher, but I thought I'd add my 1.5 cents worth of Everyman's review of the new SK ratchet and sockets after spending the weekend adjusting the valves and replacing the exhaust on my BMW R1200C.

I'll get right to the point, I was thoroughly impressed. My dad was a drag racer and open wheel driver so I grew up on speed handles and t-bars, and ratchets weren't used that much. So I can't offer the same range of reference others might have. But I really liked the knurling (which kept the handle from slipping) and the scalloped shaft made the handle fit comfortably in my hand).

I've read some say that the handles seem small on the SK. Personally, I find ALL ratchet handles to be kind of small, but the 3/8 SK compared favorably to the Snap-On (bare and cushioned grip) as well as my older C-man Industrial in the same size.

The sockets seemed well-finished and fit the ratchet and extensions quite snugly, but removed easily. I also found that they fit the Snap-On speed handle just as snuggly.

All in, I was very impressed. So much so that I ordered a set of SK combo wrenches! Good to see "Made in USA" quality at a reasonable price point again.

On a side note, member SMKS had speculated earlier that the double-letter stamps on the handle were a date code. Makes sense. Mine is stamped "AC" which would be a 2013 production. I reached out to SK for confirmation.
