Just ordered 2 SK socket sets from Epstein's. Anyone got any pics of recently purchased sets?

Here is one -

Bought most of my new SK through Epstein, everything has been new stock and flawless.

Also got some new stock sets through other retailers, and every piece is perfect.

Outside of some legitimate complaints that folks have had (which SK is quick to handle), most of the issues seem to be with folks complaining about the paint inside sockets being mistaken for bad chroming. I've been replacing all my mix and match home tools with SK, as well as some stuff at work.

Thanks. Keep seeing on here about poor finishing but everything looks good

You see every problem on here but there is hundreds of happy customers you will never hear from.
My only SK fault is from a facom era 1/4" set, which had 2 5mm in it and another size missing, every thing else is fine, good solid quality tools.
Certainly the bankruptcy and the couple years before Ideal took over was a bad time and there was a lot of stuff that got out that should never have.

IMO all the faults that are Saigon here are by people who look way too close at a tool. I just picked up my SK ratcheting wrenches today (which are freaking awesome btw, there will be a write up soon) and what did I do? I opened the kicka$$ box they were sent in, opened the wrapping, played with the ratchet mech, and tossed them in the back of the service truck. I didn't look them over with a magnifying glass, I didn't break out a microscope...... They're tools! As long as they don't break or rust for no apparent reason I'm a happy camper!

I agree 100%. It gets old when people ***** about the inside being painted vs chromed, or tiny scratches. If they are used in any capacity what the insides look like won't matter, and the outsides certainly won't matter.

You cant be serious are you? Is there truly people that complain about the inside of a socket being painted? I guess if it was chromed people would complain the chrome scratches.

They are serious. People will complain about the craziest things on this site, including the inside of the sockets that weren't all the same color paint.

I bought their 60pc. 1/4"dr., 49pc. 3/8"dr., and 47pc. 1/2"dr set a bit over a month ago. Overall quality is great! I did have a problem with the 3/8"dr set where the deep 17mm socket was missing and instead it had two of the deep 18mm sockets in it. I sent SK an email about the problem and they quickly shipped me the missing socket.

I'd always prefer to not need customer service, but my brother also got all three sets and had one duplicate/one missing and i have to say their customer service is second to none. They make it beyond easy. As to the actual product, fabulous value, no complaints.

Have several SK things in the shop. Bought several SK things last year and I've been satisfied with it all. I just got the brand new SK catalog in the mail today and plan to order several new SK tools this year. Especially since I no longer have a Snap On dealer around. I've also had no problems with warranty. Last year I warrantied a socket and 2 ratchets for my dad. No problems at all. I also didn't have problems getting replacement kits for a few of my dads ratchets. Including a kit for the 3/8 roto ratchet that they don't even make any more. I'd also bough the new XXL 3/8 breaker bar for SK day last year. The flex end had chipped chrome and had rusted where the chrome flaked off. It made it hard for the flex end to move. SK sent me a brand new replacement no problem, arrived in just a few days and included a shipping slip for me to send the flawed one back.

LB-1911, is that the 6 1/2" ratchet in that 1/4" drive set? The part number shows the smaller ratchet comes with the set. That looks like a great kit!

Which 1/2 " set did you get? 4147? How much did you get it for?

My most recent set was missing their pear head ratchet. (People who are bothered by paint on inside of sockets, this is a joke, because there have been rumors of SK pear head ratchets for the last decade)

There are some real **** jerks here. I once sold a used ratchet to a guy here who bitched that he didn't like how the finish reflected in the light. It was an old used ratchet! WTF.

I saved this pic from the SK Facebook or Twitter page last week for when ever the topic of every socket in an SK set not having identical finish comes up. This is how socket sets are packed together.

I got the 48 piece 1/4" set a few days ago. Looks flawless... all sockets have the same finish. My nuts and bolts will appreciate it.

If anyone's interested, it's $130 on Jet (link). If you've never bought on Jet before, 15NOW coupon code, free shipping, and no tax (at least for me in NC). $110 delivered.

Be aware that SK had a bad batch of 40953 driver handles.
I replaced an old black one under warranty, and the new green one was defective.
Turning the handle by hand (never had a ratchet on it) caused the handle to turn on the shank.
SK customer Service told me they had a bad batch some time ago and there may still be some out there in stock.
They are sending me a new one.
If problematic, I will report back.

So far, I have the 3/8" drive metric/SAE deep/standard set bought new during SK Day 2015, a 3/8" drive metric/SAE standard/deep impact socket set, a 1/4" drive locking extension bought used, and a metric 3/8" drive universal impact set. Like all of them a lot. Had one impact socket with a badly machined end, but was sent a new one no questions asked right away. I'm currently eyeing the above-mentioned 1/4" drive 48pc set and a 1/2" drive set down the road, along with a few other sets. Slowly replacing foreign-made Craftsman with SK (USA Made, quality, and at a reasonable price for what it is).

Do the socket sets come in a cardboard sleeve/package or just wrapped in plastic? Last set I bought was just wrapped in plastic. Found it a bit odd

Your gonna drive yourself crazy worrying about whether they are wrapped in plastic or in a sleeve. It's About the 4th time you have asked.. For the record my 1/4 master set was in a cardboard sleeve/No shrink wrap and the 3/8 was the same IRC, then again tool packaging isn't real high no my priority list, I simply throw it away.
