Hello guys, I have a new slab, 864 sq.ft. Looking to do a 1/3 in a racedeck style tiles and the rest in a colored epoxy. Cost is an issue, but I want something decent. Home use. Any thoughts or ideas from the pros or users is appreciated. Thank you.

I suggest coating your entire floor first, in whichever product you choose. Then, place your tiles where you'd like them. Yes it will cost a small amount more, but your floor will be uniform and complete. This way if you ever decide to remove the tiles you won't have a 1/3 unfinished floor.

As usual, Benwah hit the nail on the head. If your going to put tile down, protect the floor. The entire floor.

One thing to think about though... When tiles are installed over a coating like an epoxy, and they are not installed wall to wall, they might slide around a little -- or even a lot.

Using a product like TrueLock B4 can protect the floor under the tiles without changing the texture of the floor and might be a better fit under the tile.
