I poured 1 side of my slab on the 1st of march and the other on the 11th the side I poured on the 11th does not have as much dust as the side I poured on the 1st...is this dust normal?????it seems to be going away but its spots in the slab I can see the dust like in a pile... today I took the water hose and pressure washer and cleaned it up real good but can still see some spots in the 1st side....how can I control it???? just put some sealer on it????I am about ready to run my block but would like to make sure its all good ...

My slab has been down for almost 2 years and its still dusty. I hate sitting down when I detail my truck! I'd like some info also!!

Men, one coat of densifier should help it and will not change the surface appearance.
This, of course, is dependent upon the quality of your surface.

If your mason left you a sandy cap, all bets are off.

Mines just super dusty! Not necessarily sandy! I think he used too much water so it would be easier for him to finish.

not sandy just dusty... I washed it and it help a lot so I may just wash it again and see what happen.......after that I will put down some sealer...since I plan to use it for everything, working on car ,fixing my race car, welding and so my son paints as well...so it will get a lot of use..

I'll second Scotty's densifier suggestion. I treated my slab recently, it's easy to apply and doesn't break the bank.

The sand he's referring to is not sand coming off, rather the content of sand in the cap area or thickness off the poor. In other words the finisher put the rock down farther and made the "cream coat" thicker for his convenience. I agree to put down densifier as well. I do not know how it works but it does, I have it down on my polished floor. My situation was a totally different one, but I can say the stuff works!
