Well, I've done a lot of reading on this site regarding my 30 X 40 build. Just had the Bend-Pak 2 post installed now I'm ready to finish the floor. Here's where I think I screwed up. I wanted my floor smooth, and it came out beautiful, almost looks polished. Well everyting I've read so far says it has to be rough for the epoxy to do its job.
My question is, can't I just put a clear sealer down or could I totally buff out the floor and leave it at that?
I did the water test and it does NOT absorb into the concrete. It stays there until it evaporates !!

You have really got my attention and made me think, because I'm having my concrete floor poured in 10 days! I will def be checking this thread, & I may have to tell my mason to go easy with that power trowel!

What model lift is that btw? Thanks. Floor looks good.

Diamond grind the surface, then etch?

No need to etch if you diamond grind.

If it doesn't have a sealer the etch will give it bite, regardless of the finish it has.

A smooth finish is just a layer of cream on top. An etch opens up the cream.

SYNIK, the model # is XPR10A, it requires a 12 foot 4 inch height for clearance. This is the WIDE model. Also a 30A circuit, 240V.

thegarageguy, what is the process you referred to and what materials do I need. Do you guys sell the stuff I need?

Thanks for your replies, this site has been a great help.

We don't sell products, just install..you may want to reach out to Scott from Legacy. The process I'm talking about is called a "topical polish", google it. Get a propane burnisher and phoenix pads, and go to town. Good luck! ;)
