For the short swing I think the lack of lock is fine. All my torque wrenches flex similarly, I need the lock on ratchets as the head can turn 90 to the handle.
I was thinking of my old Mac ratchet that has limited flex and it was often more beneficial than a hinderance. But yes, my Snap-on microm and split beam are flex but I believe to an even lesser degree of swing IIRC.

I'm currently using a 14.4 Snap-on ratchet and really like how it has performed so far, so this new release piqued my interest.

I have long thought that the only cordless tools that Snap-On (makes, sells or whatever) that are worthy of consideration is their cordless ratchets. Milwaukee has everything else locked down but Snap-On's ratchets have always, to me, been the best combination of speed and power. That likely changed with the new Milwaukee ratchets but this advancement does, in my opinion, switch the argument back into Snap-On's favor.

Amazing to be honest. I don't think I'd ever spring for Snap on electric tools being fully invested in Milwaukee, but lets hope others follow.
Cool innovation and a step forward none the less.
