Just received notice from my dealer that snap on has just released a new 3/8 cordless impact that is now li-ion and can use the 18v packs. That is all the info I got but he will show me it in person on friday I am curious as I have been waiting for awhile for a 3/8 li-ion,as how it will stack up with others

I know there are a few reps on here as o cannot find any info online yet unless others will bring more to the table

Alright, that made my decision. I was split between a bunch of different cordless impacts. IF Snap On does support their 18v Li-ion battery line across to the 3/8'' impact, my mind is made up.

Ingersoll also has a 3/8 cordless unless you already have 18v tools then that makes sense.

I did look at Ingersoll, but I think I am going to go with Snap On because my student discount is significantly better with SO than with IR.

Damn!

If it can take the 18V lithium ion battery, I would buy the bare tool, as I already have the CT7850 impact gun

Nice, I've been wanting to replace my 3/8" IR and 1/2" Mac cordless impacts with some that have better batteries. I'll have to check this one out.

the spec on it is impressive. Anyone know how much it costs? I would love to buy one just to put it up against the W5130 and my 3/8 air guns.

CT8810. Its not in my system yet. The few dealers that have them are obviously lucky enough to get some advance units. Price for the kit is going to be in the $500 range from what I have heard.

Max torque on the w5130 is only at 190 ft ibs with the 3.0ah battery surprising since the w7150 is such a beast

Had my dealer check for it. It shows up in his system but there's no pricing info listed. Just bought a 14v ni-cad one a couple weeks ago so with any luck he'll give me a good trade (read full price) for the 18v.

I'm curious to see how these hold up, my first ct4410 lasted a few years of everyday use but when it died I sent it off for a rebuild and bought another 4410. I had to send off my rebuilt one as soon as I got it back because it didn't hammer right. My new one lasted about a month past the warranty and the motor locked up. What was sad is it was only used about 3 months total before it locked up, I took it home and used it in my garage as soon as my other one was rebuilt. I think their power tools have went downhill in the last couple years.

I think you just had bad luck getting two bad ones. Mine is going strong 4 1/2 years with original batteries used hard everyday. I did sent mine in under warranty because the led stop working. The two techs at my dealership's other branch have had theirs over five years with no problems.

$500-600 is getting a bit ridiculous, especially for a 3/8" gun. I think I'll hold off until it hits the used market.

The problem is people pay 500-600$ for a 3/8 gun. It isn't just SO. look at list price on the new IR or Matco. I agree it is a bit excessive but if ppl are willing to pay it then the price point must me right.

Ordered my CT 8810 kit today. Should have it in a week or two. Dealer confirmed the batteries interchange with the big half inch gun.

Why would someone buy an IR cordless from a truck?

A lot of guys buy IR, Gearwrench and other tool brands from the tool truck because they can make payments. I work with guys that will pay twice the price for Gearwrench just so they can pay $10 a week.

hope their work quality is better than their common sense. You aren't doing yourself any favors paying hundreds more in premium compared to just eating CC interest for awhile on a vastly cheaper internet purchase. Similar pricing I can understand, but not if the trucks are selling the same $375 IR kit for $500+.

Great, just as I had made up my mind on getting the 3/8 20v IR. but I love snap on and all, but for that price ill pass even in green.and I was thinking about buying the ir from cornwell.my dealer has it for 389. Not that bad for low weekly payments and no interest.

I just got my Milwaukee M18 Fuel the other day. $329 for the kit. 5-times the Snap-on warranty! And much smaller in size.

It isn't, I don't know how some of these people keep a job with the **** they build. Some people I work with can do a simple upfit (basic service body on a chassis) and have multiple pages of things wrong with the truck, that's on almost every truck too. I have watched some of these guys get a tool off the truck and either sell it to one of the guys in the shop or take it to the pawn shop the same day.
