Just some thoughts from a guy that has owned three different Snap On Imagers/ Bore-Scopes. starting with the rigid bore-scope 20 + years ago. I have traded up always when a new one came out. I now own the BK6000 and the 8000 must be the one to replace this. Here is what I can say about the 6000, has a lot of nice features case, the way the battery connects etc.
Here are the things I do not like about the 6000.
1. Works great to view thru the scope, would be nice if it had rotation button to rotate image!
2. When you download the images to a computer, the resolution is pretty low and the pictures are very grainy! From day one I had my dealer try to find out how to change the resolution on the saved pictures and he could never figure it out, when you go to show the pictures to customers they are not very clear. I you own one of these and figured a way out to rectify this problem I would appreciate how you did it?
3. It is made in China, that’s just me it has never had a problem in the last 2+ years I have owned it!
4. The magnetic tool only attaches to the imager by friction clipping! Be careful here when using this style from a guy that knows. If the clips on the magnet catches on something, during use, and it comes off there is no way of getting it out, when it sticks to something inside whatever you are looking at! Short of tearing it down! Maybe a better quality bore-scope your doctor uses, for Open Heart Surgery might be able to snag it, but I couldn’t get it out, without tearing down the engine!
