Ok great, Snap on has deep damaged fastener remover sockets out now.
What's funny is that they show the socket on what appears to be a Craftsman ratchet in their new product announcement. Is attention to detail a lost skill? Can't we show it on a new 80 series ratchet? I know, the printer got the Craftsman ad for deep damaged removal sockets mixed up with the Snap on ad.

Thats too much!

This is what happens when you rebadge an OEM's product, and use their file photo as well.

In all honesty I don't care if the box is pink with purple poka dots. As long as it does the job with out me having to pay a 400 to 600 percent markup for a Name.

I once asked on here if the Irwin ones are any good - that's all I have seen in the UK.
But no-one answered me (sob).
Any chance of an answer now?

AJ looks like the OEM vendor; what do you think? From what I can see, the Snapon version has a hex area on top like a spark plug socket in addition to, the ratchet square drive as well...

They could also be Lock technologies, they do have some USA made stuff. And they make several kits for Snap on, Matco and MAC. Look at their catalog, you will see a lot of familiar stuff.

If I was a betting man though, I would go with AJ Technologies. I think the dark horse would be KD, but they have gone with some KD stuff in the past.

It could be that the OEM has the Patent on the design, and with snap on you will be paying for the convenience of having the truck deliver them.

I wonder if there are linkages between the two companies of AJ Manufacturing Company and LTI Tools. Oh, lets see where they are... Elmhurst, IL 60126 and Naperville, IL 60540; a little google maps sleuthing shows that are in very close proximity to each other! They are practically neighbors and what looks to be on the outskirts of Chicago...

the irwins are good, an ex workmate used to have them and I used them often.

They were the 8, 10, 13, 17 and 19mm set (iirc). The only issue I have is the price and the sizes missed.

Another workmate got a full Beta set from 8mm to 21mm, they are on offer and around £95 iirc just now. They were excellent

I brought this up to my snappy guy this morning. We pulled up the web page on his truck and we both had a little chuckle. He said he was going to bring this up in his next meeting with the marketing guys. What a bunch of tools

thanks Chris, I was wondering if my posts were visible only to myself.
I'll have a look for a Beta seller and meanwhile have a scope at the Irwin ones as I have to go to Machine Mart in the morrer.

The question is who will need that? The regular Craftsman bolt-out features pass-through, right? We can just use the regular one plus a big box end wrench.

Seeing how they used a Craftsman ratchet; I wonder if they will come out in the Craftsman line, soon?
