if you're thinking about resale value or adding a locker or a top piece the best color to go with would be regular red. With red its easier to buy and sell used stuff because its the regular "go to" color for most guys. If you're dead seat against red I do like the extreme green... the color really pops!

yellow looks good on a box. Black is very common. Bright green, i dont get. Looks horrible, like a nightmare, yet tons of people love it. Personally i think that color ruins everything it touches. Its like taking a classic car and painting obnoxious flames on it.

Ultimately you need to be the one to decide though since you're going to be the one looking at it every day.

I agree don't get yellow. Yellow is hard to sell if you decide to down the road. Gloss black is nice but shows grease/fingerprints/scratches very easily.

well the color i got isn't on your short list.... arctic silver...

so narrow your three colors down to two... flip a coin... if after you flip a coin and want to do the best two out of three... then you know you really want the color that lost on the first flip... if you don't do best two out of three...then you really want the color that won the toss!

I love my yellow box. I hate red boxes, but that just my opinion. Snap-On has sold a lot of them, so what do I know.

I vote for orange because, well, my box is orange and it's also my favorite color. Also like the extreme green, arctic silver and the darker gray color.

An obnoxious colored one will be easier to describe/recover in case someone rips it off

I like Blue.......:dunno:
I like my blue 722 a lot, but I think white will be my next purchase.

For those saying go red for re-sale, I don't buy into it. I hate red boxes. Maybe its because my first recycled soda can of a Craftsman box was red, or maybe its the wall-o-harbor boxes that I've been too lazy to repaint, but I just would never consider a red box again. At least not on a new box where I had a choice. On a used box it would have to be an amazing deal for me to settle for red.

Classic red with white decals for this guy:

Out of your choices, I like the extreme green. The black shows dirt and is high maintenance and the yellow has poor resale and there are no tools to color match to the box.

I look at it this way.... if you buy a KRL triple bank tool box and later on you want to add a top piece the odds of getting a top piece to match will be a lot easier if its red vs. any other color. Over the last couple years I bought a KRL tool box at a swap meet.. then I bought a bottom piece to match it... then I bought a hutch... then locker... still thinking about a second locker..

Before any of you guys say "need pics..."

When Im old and gray and wanna sell my **** Im not gonna have somebody cry that the colors dont match.... Wont matter though.. they'll (buy) will find something to beat me up on the price.

Of the three colors, I would go with the black. Should always be in style. The bright colors are more of a fad much like they were in the late 80's.
