I have the set with only the sockets and ratchet (no bits) and I think it was around $140 off the truck.

It is very low profile and can get into tight places BUT

The sockets take a few seconds to seat into the ratchet. They use clips around the outside of the sockets that hold them into the ratchet. They work OK but changing sockets is a million times faster with a standard 1/4" ratchet and socket.

You would never want to try to use one as a primary set, only to get you into places where the standard won't fit.

I forgot to add the sockets can be used like regular sockets (they also have a square drive hole), but you have to use the clip with that style ratchet.

I have the set without the bits too, very nice when space is limited, also use the sockets with a standard ratchet

saw a couple of these sets go on Ebay a week or so ago. If I'd have known the list price for them I'd have probably tried for them as IIRC they went for not a lot over $100 each. Don't really need the bits so I was just holding out for a regular set

I have the ratchet set, but it just looks like the added regular 1/4 bits to the socket holder. I'd pass, just get the 1/4 drive adapter and use the bits I already have.

Wouldn't something like a pass thru set like Gearwrench, Kobalt or Matco acomplish the same thing?

as far as the sockets go, yes. The pass throughs accomplish the same thing. The nice thing about that set is the torx bits. They come in handy when changing the camshaft actuator magnet on chevy uplanders. that is, however, the only application I have ever needed it for. And because of that, I bought only the T-30.
