Update Ok today borrow the work van on my day off to get my boxes AND I SORTA SCREW UP ,the 2 new boxes are krl they are wider and deeper my old combo is 33' the new stuff is 35"+ wide ,so the mid box could not be put in the mix as its wont work for the KRL and it will make my kr stack to tall to use . So the mid KR is going on sale if octraine changes his mind about driving up to get it
so this is what it looks like now

SHOULD I BUY this box guy wanted 1800$ i got him down to 1300$ its a bit high but really
nothing els is selling for around a grand in my area

this is my current box that i got for a grand but the guy was really hurting for cash , the idea is to set the bottom from the new on the frame and drop the mid box on top, so i don't loose the work surface , and keep the new top box at home to organize my home tools

the mid box is kinda stupid unless ur 7 ft tall i had all 3 stacked up and i could not see anything in the top 2 draws and i am a hair shy of 6 ft so thus the mid boss is on the side as a work surface , but sadly the 3 boxes and side cab are all full so thus i am buying the two at the v

lol no the 4 piece a got about a yr ago for a grand the guy was hurting supper bad for cash and his area no one had any to spend it was a bit of a drive

the 2 in the first pick are the ones i am buying for 1300$ they are 10 min away from my house and really anything els is 2500$ and up so I will slap all the boxes together and make a supper storage unit

Wait a minute, now that I look at it, it looks like a miss matched set. That top chest looks slightly wider than the bottom box. That bottom box is a KR657A and it supposed to have a KR647 mid section with a KR637 top chest.

That top chest that's on there now looks like a KR650A and it's supposed to have a KR655B for its matching bottom box.

The KR657A is 33-11/16'' wide and the KR655B is 35-5/8'' wide.

That bottom box is exactly like the one you already have.

The top is just sitting crooked. That is the newer style of that box. Could be as new as 95.

For the OP, I don't think that is a really bad deal when you factor time / trouble / possible shipping issues of finding something, but the tool dealer I just bought a used KR657 / 637 settup off of told me any that where around 500 - 800 is the going rate for those and he had guys offering hundreds over the sale price if he would ship the the box (which he wouldn't, and the reason I got it. He was close by for me) .

the boxes look to be in good condition,
$1300 aint a "you ****" price,
but is probably a reasonable price

it does look like a newer top box, with the top that has a partial front.

I want it ,but it seems like my original 4 piece combo is more solid feeling and slides better ,the newer 2 box deal i am picking up next week looks almost the same but feels different the slides don't roll so easy as my box and the sheet metal on the drawers seems to feel more flimsy

the new 2 box deal has the stupid plastic sliding lock on all the drawers and the new box is 2" deeper but width is the same no matter what i a gona take it as i ran out of storage and need the 2 boxes to keep buying more tools

If u do a trek from the windy city to the steel city i just might have to let it go if u want it so bad ,its not perfect has some scuffs and chips from age but no dents and 2 of the liners are mia and you have to be at least 7 ft tall to use the top storage space or stand on a bucket if ur anything under 6 ft

the platform is super heavy 1/4 U channel

the old set up moved 3 shops never shifted but i see what ur saying the platform was made by the previous owner and its built well only thing i did to it is chop the up rights out and added wheels in the center as the empty boxes are 700+ LBS so just to be safe and to keep everything level
