wouldn't more teeth in the same size head imply narrower/weaker teeth? Will this handle as much torque as the 72 tooth predecessor?

if they make the teeth smaller then yes each tooth will be able to carry less laod. to compensate they will spread the load over more teeth so they can have the same or better load handeling

I dont think the high tooth count looses any strength. Just like in a rear axle. A stock axle I believe is usually a 28 spline. If you buy a high performance axle from Strange or someone it will probably be a 31 spline or so. Like said above, it is simply spreading the load.

I have the 72 tooth version and I love it. Its probably my favorite ratchet especially when I work on my Trans AM because I don't bust knuckles trying to reach the back spark plug on the pass side. I think I will have to pick this one up soon.

I have one of these and I love it. If your fh747 were to be "broken" this would be the replacement and you wouldn't have to pay a dime

The rebuild kit for this 100th might work just fine in the last generation's head as well. Worth asking a dealer about.

Since no one can tell the differance the previous model is 49 teeth looky here. Also for those thinking that a rebuild kit might do something magical for that old FH747 NO IT WILL NOT. why you ask? Because the teeth in a round tooth ratchet are part of the head and the pawl is in the center.

My only question is when is the quarter drive version coming?

:+1: Speed Bump knows....
Unlike a traditional ratchet design, when the teeth get worn out, you end up having to replace the whole handle/head.

so i have a F748 with a fresh rebuild kit in it and it still slips, so im in for a new 100 tooth or can i get the 49 tooth head housing. Cuz its a long handle rotator with the standard handle wich i like, id rather not have the comfort grip, but it would be nice to have a 100 tooth
