First off, let me start by saying that I am not a goer of "cheap" tools by any means, I buy quality at whatever the price and whatever the brand for everyday pro use. Well today I was headed up to our cabin to clear some shooting lanes and relax a bit, enjoy whats left of the fall colors, just prepping for our sacred 9 day gun deer season. Theres a liquidator store about 15 miles from our cabin and happens to be on the way up, I may have been in there once before years ago. Well I decide to stop in, it just so happens they have quite the selection of tools, all mainly the GRIP, MIT, TEXTON brands and they did have some Ideal electrical tools on clearance, it really reminded me of a "better" Harbor Freight. Well, Ive been wanting to relocate my shallow 1/2" drive Craftsman SAE chrome socket set to my truck, as I am always needing bigger sockets outside of work. After looking at the Texton 1/2" drive shallow SAE impact sockets, I thought, for $30 what the heck, its got every size from 3/8-1 1/4" minus 1 3/16", which is fine, I can use a 30mm. I like this idea of having all impact sockets in 1/2" drive at work, as I am working on heavy machinery alot and go from a gun to a breaker bar/ratchet often, why not have a universal socket right? Well let me say that I am very impressed with these, they come in a nice case and are finished very nice, my only gripe with them is that they are laser etched with no engraved size, but so far I give them 4.5 stars out of 5. I already used the 3/4 socket a bit today on a breaker bar, got on it a bit and it worked perfect. Needless to say, I will be exploring this brand a little bit more, and I want to say that I am impressed with the quality/price! Lifetime warranty, which I may never need.

I got that set as a cheap socket set for oil changes at work. Well its now my go-to set for the inpact. Hammered on them with a 600 foot pound ingersol and never had a problem.

Tekton tools are pretty good when it comes to cheap tools. Their customer support is unrivaled except by the truck brands. Their warranty service is better than 99% of the industry. When I need a tool for a one time job and can wait the two days for amazon prime delivery they are my go to.
