NEW Soft Launch TruAlloy Aluminum Urethane Garage Coating

One of my favorite things to do here is to give members access to a soft launch of a product at special pricing in return for photos and feedback so that some of our less experienced customers can get through the process.

We have spent the last couple of years looking to replace the previous metallic aluminum coating that we offered. Frankly, this time around we wanted to make sure we had better control over the process, labeling, surface prep suggestions, and warranty.

We are excited to announce the soft launch of our TruAlloy(TM) single component aluminum floor coating. The product is live but not linked to anywhere on the site. Special pricing is in place for the next 30 days so we can get some additional feedback and photos.

Less expensive system especially for 3 coats. It is thinner than poly. Abrasion resistance is outstanding. The specifics of what product is best for you is going to depend on your needs and concrete conditions.

I would never claim any costing to be welding proof. It has a very very high temperature resistance but molten metal could still damage it

We don’t list ‘warranties’ generally on our coatings. Mostly they are a marketing gimmick on self-installed products. The product is covered from manufacturing defects, but coating issues are almost always installation or substrate issues — one reason we dropped a similar product is we typically will work with our customers to get their project fixed as a service more than a warranty and they no longer operated that way

As project photos and reviews start rolling in it's clear this is an outstanding product at any price point, but the way we have the kits built..... We don't water it down but giving less than ideal amounts of coatings. You get the mil thickness you need

Subbed for future. Slab was poured just before Christmas so I'll be waiting until late spring / early summer before i coat it. I'm 28x20 and my neighbor also wants to do his 20x24 at the same time so I'm also looking for a larger order

Can I be real for a moment? $1 per sqft to seal and color concrete flooring! Lost all luster for me. I mean dirt cheap sealers can be colored and flakes even now and cost under .25cent sqft. I spend over $9k on a 5600sqft shop for epoxy so I have some experience.

You are not wrong that sealers
Are a good option for many. They have upsides and downsides and it’s all about what is best for your needs, not my bottom line.

I was trying to compare the polyurea specs to this product and find myself failing. An advantage of the polyurea is the thickness, chemical resistance, and flexibility.

If possible, any notes on how this product does when going head to head with polyurea?

Also, will sunlight cause yellowing?

The product is designed for interior use but will not yellow.

It is very similar to Polyurea in terms of performance. Slightly thinner per coat, so more coats are required. No color choices. Better heat resistance.

I would say Poly gives more of a showroom look and I have never seen roller marks in a Poly job, but I have seen them in aluminum-based coatings. Here is a large commercial project https://www.garageflooringllc.com/2021/02/02/franks-trualloy-installation-and-review/

The biggest difference is installation timing and color. This product holds up very well. The only other major consideration is this product will leave roller marks if you are not careful. My suggestion is to do the first coat perfectly, so you understand what needs to be done on the second.

This system takes three coats. Two-color, one. clear. it has to be done in a day. May recoat window is very very short.

Hi, How does trualloy compare to Sherwin Williams Rexthane? I have a shop with 2 coats of Rexthane and I extremely happy with it, but it is not available and I need to find another product for a new shop that is ready to be coated.

They are both moisture cured urethanes. Primary difference would be that TruAlloy color comes from aluminum not pigment .

Yes, I like the simplicity of the moisture cured urethanes. was looking at the website and only kits up to 1000sqft are offered. I'm slightly larger than that and the price jumps up a bit buying individually or even adding on to the kit. I'm really down to the trualloy or Hellfire. Advantage Hellfire for offering a kit to fit my needs.

I'm slightly larger than that and the price jumps up a bit buying individually or even adding on to the kit. I'm really down to the trualloy or Hellfire. Hellfire is a good product too. Kits are easy to customize. Just call us and let us know what you need

What do you recommend for floor prep - acid or grind - will the coverage rates on the web site work for grinding? Also my SF is 1047 - will a 1000SF work out ok if I grind?

I should add that this is new concrete - 6 months old, very smooth finish, so I am already planning to rent a 30 grit grinder - or at least not even try the diamabrush based on reviews...

You will have plenty of clear but would need an extra quart of color material.

Etching or grinding is fine. Just comes down to what you are more comfortable with
