Received my Tekton screwdrivers a couple of days ago. Haven't been able to use them yet, but thought I'd post my initial impressions and some pics. Overall, I am impressed for the price. I was set on Felo 500 series, figured i'd try these (I may still get the Felos- nice screwdrivers). Less than $40 for 10 pieces. Handles feel nice in hand, not uncomfortable at all. The tips seem well enough. I like the inclusion of a full size #0 phillips, which I don't any of my prior Craftsman sets had, it was always a mini driver. I am glad to see a tool company selling some made in USA affordable tools. As much as I like working with my hands, I am not a mechanic or tech, and cannot justify buying the premium tools for my home set (though I'd love to have them) for DIY repairs and tinkering. Yet I still want "good" tools. If other Tekton tools are like this, I will be buying more. I also would like to see them make more US-made tools as well.

Those look very nice and I cannot wait for Amazon to get the 16 piece set back in stock so they'll ship out!

Also noticed as I was unpacking them, the flat blades seem to be indexed, so they are all in the same orientation when lying so that the ends can be read. Small detail, May not mean much to some, but is a sign that some forethought went into them.

Is there any other online retailer that carries the 16 piece set that would ship?

Amazon customer service has no real idea on when they'll be back in stock.

I'm with ya. Added to the Amazon wish list for when they come back in stock.

I agree... my Williams hard handled screwdrivers are all over the place and it kinda sorta bugs me... a little.

I looked at these at Meijer a week ago. They do seem pretty good for the money. Pretty close in price to Craftsman and Husky. But the handles are light years ahead of them. If I didn't have way too many screwdrivers already I would buy these.

lightning02,

HomeDepot.com does indeed sell the new Tekton 16 piece screwdriver set here: LINK. However, it is currently out of stock. The website allows you to enter your e-mail address to be informed when the Tekton set is back in stock.

I imagine it's coming, I think these are pretty new. The only seller I found online was a seller on eBay with the 4-piece set.

Having played with them a little, they are the best value screwdrivers I've used. You get a lot for your money here. I wish they spent a little more time on the machining of the tips, they're a little sharp on the edges...that's the only knock and it's really just splitting hairs.

Well hopefully Amazon and / or Home Depot get them in stock pretty soon. Definitely excited about picking this set up.

Any info as to when these might be available?

archirelic,

Both Amazon.com and HomeDepot.com are out of stock on the 16 piece sets. However, Amazon has stock of the 8 pc set for $24.99 here: LINK.

Amazon is more expensive on the 2 pc stubby set than Home Depot. Home Depot sells this set for $8.99 and has it in stock here: LINK.

Maybe Dave can shed some light on why the 16pc. set has been out of stock for so long. Customers are sitting here waiting to buy!

NitroSun,

Both Amazon and HomeDepot.com are out of stock on the 16 piece sets. However, Amazon has stock on both the 8 pc and 12 pc sets (only 1 unit left on the 12 pc) for $24.38 and $34.99 respectively: LINK.

the 16pc set appears to only exist to tease us with something that won't happen...

i've never seen it in stock and it keeps bouncing back and forth between temporarily out of stock and currently unavailable

I got linked here from a thread I started. As of right now, there are five 16 piece sets in stock, at Amazon, for $49.99.

Can anyone compare these TEKTON's to the Bondhus USA screwdrivers and the FELO?

I have Felo 400 screwdrivers(Black and yellow), completely different quality screwdrivers. The Tektons are nice but they could use better finishing on their tips, the tips are sharp edged. The Felo 400 series is their main series, much softer and grippier grip. The Felos have hex bolsters and a hex shank. Felo does have other lines, I imagine the 500 would be the closest to the Tektons but you're going to get much better machining.

Tektons have a bigger handle, Felos handles are rather small but comfortable even for those with larger hands like myself. Tekton also has a different shape but I assume you already know that.

Thank you for posting this observation. Attention to small details like that are HUGE to consumers like me.

Nice they are finally in stock and also it appears they are part of the $15 off $50 deal which ends at midnight.

No money for me today or I would get some.

Dave......I understand private business relationships but if the OE was known it may open up sales to more potential buyers that like certain manufacturers

I had the same thing pop up for something I ordered I think it was long reach hex keys. The promo code wouldnt work though.

I hope they ship your screwdrivers I had to contact them more than once about mine. I ordered a 16pc when it was in stock they didnt ship, even though they went in and out of stock more than once since the order, until I contacted them 2 or 3 times. they finally shipped out of this batch so lets hope its the right set.

Kung Fu Panda something of good quality that based on name you'd imagine was made in China but was made in the USA...just like these screwdrivers :D

I just ordered a set off Warehouse Deals.

I'm honestly not expecting much, between my Weras, Wiha, Beta, Vessel, Athlet, I'm pretty spoiled, but I'm always out to discover new bargains. Will report back in a few days.

Can you repost the pic?

And hopefully these will be available on Amazon soon. Couldn't find anything on Meijer's website or even Tekton's website.

Awesome...thanks! Wondering if they'll come out with a whole SAE and Metric set at some point.

Would be interesting. But right now I cant find those nut drivers even on Tektons site....not quite sure why.

Maybe they are from a Chinese company called Texton?

:)
