New threads, saving work before hitting Submit?

Hi all,

I like to "do my fair share" by posting projects I think the other members may get some useful information from. As I work on a project in my garage I often follow along with my camera with the idea I may post up instructions of how I did this and that. Most recently I re-caned a chair and put up a post on how to do it. Well, I go thru my photos, add them to the post, and tell the story as I go along.
Is there any way to occasionally save the work prior to hitting the Submit button?
I type slowly and sometimes edit and add additional words as I go along. When I did the cane chair post I lost about an hours work due to PhotoBucket crashing my computer.
When I did a long post on the HAMB, I typed the whole thing up in Word and copied and pasted because I could save it every 10 minutes or so. Please let me know if there is a better way.

So, a reasonable number of members have read my question here. Do any of you know how to save your work when putting up a multi step, multi picture posting?
How do you do your posts?

If I'm making a post that's long, I select and copy the entire post to the clipboard before posting. This in case the browser crashes etc. Of course, this won't help with the entire computer crashing.
