I ended up running another tray for mid depths and super shallows. And another for 12 point. And another for impacts. Made one of these out of Hanson trays by slicing down the middle and glueing the shallow row on the front of another tray for a kid at work.

I did the same for my work toolbox, but it was for 2 rows of shallow sockets and 1 row of deep sockets. In my shop I actually have mid-length, so this would be perfect!

My dealer had these on truck last week, black, orange, red , and green . 3/8 drive only at the time. 20 years ago I took a mechanic time saver magnetic one for 1/4 drive shallow and deep and cut the deep side down flush to the shallow side. I have had sae and metric semi deeps in that ever since. I would like to see a hanson 1/4 and 3/8 version that would hold sae and metric semi on one tray.

Glad I searched first instead of starting a new thread. Took this pic on the truck yesterday. 9998e01a45a1c1536fd910eca9929b5b.jpg

The metrics go from 6 - 20 mm. When Hansen starts making these that match sets that Snap On actually sells or mechanics actually use I might buy some, but that hasn't happened in the past 20 years. What's wrong with making ones that go from 8 - 19mm, or 8 - 21mm, or 8 - 24 mm? Hansen seems to have their heads up their butts.

If you search either of these all the available colors will come up.

$28.95 ea.

I read in another thread a couple weeks ago that Snap-on may have negotiated a time period of about 6 months of exclusivity before Hansen starts making these with their own name. I'm sure they will be half that price then.

I had my dealer drop me off a metric and SAE pair this morning. I told him blacks fine. They're just gonna get nasty anyway. Bout damn time they started making these. Looking forward to 1/4" drive ones too. Here's a pic to drive all you OCD guys nuts with all the blank slots that I'm not going to fill.

In 3/8" drive I now have low profile, swivel, 6pt shallow, 6pt mid, 6pt deep, 12pt shallow, and 12pt deep all in one organized block.

Too funny I want to do the exact same thing. Why can't Hansen or westling make a tray for normal people.

That price gouging though. 6 Hansen trays for $45 or one tray for $30.

If they would just simply make the holders to match the sizes in the Snap-on sets (for example 8-19mm in 3/8'' drive) I would've already bought some. Who needs 6 and 7mm in 3/8'' drive?

I really like your solution. I spent this morning like this :headscrat trying to rearrange the Metric socket drawer to make everything fit.

Now, with more organization, it doesn't. :wtf:

As a general FYI if anyone is curious, the new three row organizer takes up the same footprint as two of the Snap-On PAKTY tray magnetic organizers.

Old thread bump! Any chance these are warrantied through snap-on? Like all my other retired or tossed Hansen socket trays, mine has broken pegs.

Edit from snap on website: "Lifetime Warranty, Non-Repairable, Warrantied for Materials and Workmanship/for as long as purchaser owns the Tools."

I guess i won't break out the superglue just yet.
