New here, sorry if this was asked already. I’ll learn over time.
I’m in Ontario Canada where it gets cold in winter. I have insulated a 3 car garage which is un heated. I’m at the stage of what to do with the ceiling. It has a frame rafters with joists 16 on centre so I could just screw 4x8 sheets of osb to it which would be flat. Wondering how much warmer this would make it in winter ? Or should I skip that part and put the funds towards an electric heater ?
Which is probably my next question.
Thanks, Peter H.

Welcome to the GJ.

May I suggest you update your profile with your location as Ontario instead of adjacent to house as in future you may find that helps. Specially given this is a very global forum. Often you will find subjects may get different answers depending on locations and regulations. The location you have listed is not going to help you in future.

Also now you have introduced yourself make a new post in heating and cooling as you will get a better response. I am sure you will find the forum addictive and enjoyable.

Welcome to GJ.

If I were in your position, I would start with some pink fiberglas batting in between the bottom chords, then a poly vapor barrier stapled to the chords.

That will help trap heat in the building.

Just putting up OSB without insulation or vapor barrier won't help when you try to heat the building...and will in fact cause moisture to condense on the cold side (attic) of the OSB and cause mold issues.
