What’s up guys. Just wanted to share my new to me shop. The wife and I recently purchased a new house. My only requirement was to have a shop big enough for a lift already with it lol. My last shop was a 30x50 with a rotary lift. Here’s a link to that “build” : https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=153333

So here we are to the new shop. 40x40, 3 10x10 roll up doors. 2 on the front, and 1 in the back. I can pull through the shop and drop the trailer off and drive right on through. Really like not having to back it in. Shop already had a 200 amp service installed with plug ins every 10’ or so. 3 8’ fluorescents and one set of 2 4’ lights. I still need to add a few lights. Not sure exactly what I’m going to do tho. Brought the old compressor to the new shop, as well as all of my toolboxes and work benches.

I left the rotary at the old shop as a nice selling point for the place. Which worked out well. A local round track guy buy the place within a month of it being on the market. So I needed a new lift... I was thinking about going with one of the cheapo atlas lifts. But I’m not a fan of the chain over hydraulic setup. Plus after the steel tariffs their prices went way up. I made a call to bendpak inquiring about their xpr-10as. They told me they had an open box special for $2799 shipped. Which is $50 more than the comparable atlas lift. I said sold. I had it working 10 days. The scratches and dings are nothing to me. So overall I saved $700 over a brand new one.

I just had a certified bendpak installer do the install yesterday. Took him about 8 hours but he said he didn’t have any hiccups at all. He also said that my concrete was some of the best he’s ever seen. Very hard and level. Also was plenty thick enough. Which is something I was worried about seeing as how I had no idea how thick or what psi the stuff was sense it was done years prior and by the previous owners.

Well anyways enough talking. Here’s some pics. Thanks guys.

Nice size and the drive through doors are a great feature. I do not like backing up either.

Congrats on the new place, looks like you will be doing some serious wrenching in there.

Are you going to insulate it?

I plan to as I go. The eves were left open for some reason so I’ll need to finish that and then do the insulation. Even thought about putting up some type of ceiling to try and keep the heat in.
