New to me compressor

Just piked this up kicks in at about 85psi and kicks out at about 175psi . Any advise on this compressor?

Seems like a good unit just based on the DeVilbiss name. Its possible they sourced it from another compressor manufacturer but I highly doubt its bottom-of-the-barrel quality.

Looks like a typical 5hp 2 stage compressor.

I'd attempt to change the oil and the air intake filter just for peace of mind.

I would assume that it has an adjustable pressure as on @ 85/ off@ 175 is a huge differential. If you're using an impact @ 85 psi, it's going to struggle. I suggest adjusting the pressure switch to turn on @ 125 psi. Mine are set at on @140 / off @ 175 psi.

Looks like a pretty nice setup...Baldor motor, magnetic starter, oversized air filter, Square D pressure switch...all nice components.

Yeah, check on the pressure switch differential, it probably out of adjustment. All you have to do on those is tighten a lock nut to adjust tension on a spring.
