Just got a new compressor. Probably has been sitting unused for 10-15 years. I've owned smaller compressors just wasn't sure if there is anything you guys recommend to check/replace before firing it up. Already drained and replaced the oil.

I've had a newer Sanborn for about 4 years now and it's been fine. I haven't had any issues with it. If you don't know how much it's been used or abused, just keep an eye on the oil level site glass for a while. We had one in our plant for years and no one ever changed or checked the oil, LOL. Took about 10 years for the oil to get to low and toast the rod.

Also check/replace the air filter.
That's a nice big compressor.
It will run a 100lb capacity pressure sand blaster continually.
Also, add one of those auto drain valve from hazard fart but put DOT airline on it, the original airline won't hold up to the heat.

Thanks for the tips. Good to know my main plan is using it for working on cars and possibly painting but that won't be for a long time if I end up getting into it.

It was well taken care of by my cousin he died at a young age and then it sat in his parents garage for the last 16 years just filling up tires for cars mowers and bikes so not many hours on it I'm sure.
