Went back to the pawn shop to see if I could work out a trade. And it worked. They had various mac ratchets for sale as stated in another post. I had my eye on a 3/8 ratchet that's 11" oal. I took in a 1/2 proto ratchet, 3/8 blackhawk ratchet and two Stanley 1/4 ratchets. They had 75 on it and took my trade.

Its in very good condition and only has three dents on the head the size of a couple needle heads, and normal tool box rash. Slimmer head then I usually see And will most likely be my new go to ratchet. Might take some more ratchets in and see if I Can get the longer 1/2 ratchet.

Now while we're talking mac, I have what I think is an odd socket. 3/8 drive shallow 6mm. What's odd is it has a Allen screw in it. Someone tell me what for? Pic:

Took the best pics I could with the phone. Don't know how good they'll be on a PC screen.

The Allen set screw I would think would be so you can tighten and the socket won't fall of your ratchet/extension just a thought.

Actually them picture just shows the lettering. the Allen head is on the bottom side close to the opening. I'll make sure when I go back out tomorrow

Its probably a bit socket that once held a Hex bit, torx bit, screwdriver bit etc. They are made so if the bit wears out you can change out the bit only and re-use the socket.
