I found this on CL for $40 and picked it up for $30. It needed a new belt, and the feed block wasn't catching the riser plates properly. The feed block assists in feeding the blade down as well as lifting the blade on the forward stroke. I had a belt, and after turning the feed block over I have a cool and functional saw.

It is very dirty, so a full restore will be in its future, as well as a proper blade.

That's cool . . . . and a STEAL at just $ 30 . . . . . yeah, YOU **** !!

Keep the ole girl running nice, and plan a full restoration when the cold winter winds keep you inside the shop !! ;)

I'm in San Antonio, so not much in the way of cold winds. Next summer will probably be restore time. It's a pretty simple machine, so a good one to do with the kids.

I've had a similar one for years and it gets the job done. Be aware that some of those family of saws are designed to cut on the push stroke. That opposite of most power hack saws. If you can hold onto the lift arm you can feel which stroke, forward or reverse, applies more down pressure to the blade.
