new (to me) Speed Air compressor

Went shopping for a dresser and came home with this plus an antique typewriter desk for the wife. It is 1.5 HP Speed Air, I am guessing with a 20 gal. tank. I don't have a blasting cabinet I just want something with a little more tank space and that is quieter than my pancake compressor. Can anyone give me any idea to the specs for this compressor, it was not been stamped from the factory. I am guessing it is from the 70's as it has a grounded plug. Also, is there a way to verify that the tank won't rupture on me? I probably won't go aver 150 psi though the gauge goes up to 200+ lbs. What about parts?

Thanks,

Mike

I doubt that tank was rated for more than 130 psi at new. I wouldn't even think of going over 120 on an old tank like that.
It will be low on the cfm ratings, you won't run a blast cabinet or any ehavy use tools very well on that comp.
looks like a nice vintage unit .

Yeah, that is what I figured. I don’t run anything to heave for long periods. Just my impact gun for short bursts and a LVLP paint gun. But it is relatively quiet which is very nice and the price was right.

Ok...Well after doing a lot of digging here I found out that I believe the pump is made by Champion. So I went to Grainger's and think I found some reasonably close specs for it. Now to get it home clean it up and see about pressure testing the tank, changing the oil, belt etc.

Finally got the compressor home last night and Thor a number off of the pump. Can anyone tell me the model? And I think the tank is toast as I heard what I think are rocks rolling around in it. So will have it checked out.
