New to me Suby Outback glutch

Hate these electronics. So apparently door not closed tight - seat belt blocked - and car would not start. Tried to open hatch but would not unlock so got starter jump thingy climbing over rear seat. Started fine BUT the hatch open beeper was on. Stays on for about 1 1/2 minutes when I put it in gear. Stops, but when I stop for a light, it starts again for 1 1/2 minutes. NO dashboard warnings. Can't open hatch.

Suggestions short of going to dealer?

Found some help on a Subaru board. Pushed and held button, and it released. Pulled it open and manually closed latch. That seemed to reset everything and now works like normal.
