New (to me) tools

Picked this up today. I think I got rather lucky. The guy had upgraded his shop to snap-on stuff. picked all this up for 40 bucks.
All craftsman with 2 snap-on pliers, and 1 snap-on 3/8" socket extender. I really only wanted the gearwrench stuff from looking at the ad, but the ratchets are nice too. There were tons of sockets too but mostly off camera, I picked up some harbor freight socket organizers on my way home. Lots of duplicates though, might end up selling some of it.
Forgive the quality, these were taken with my camera phone. And sorry about the last picture, I've been up to late and thinking certain thinks "look neat". It's intentionally that dark and kind of looks like a wing...yeah, i don't know.

I agree, except for the thin profile one. Those don't like the RLL...

Not so strange, since all one has to do is take them to sears and exchange them, no questions asked, and then sell them for a few bucks extra.

Thats what I`m thinking, the stuff looks new unused. I`m not knocking Snap on here but now he`s probably now stuck with a weekly tool payment. Maybe the $40 was this weeks payment.

I'll be opening them up and giving them the RLL treatment today =) The thin profile ratchet likes bearing grease if I remember correctly? I'll need to look that up.

I'm on the fence about keeping these, They're the 8 inch version I'm pretty sure but I'll double check when I get home. I love the Knipex line of pliers and am not sure if I want to keep these as extras but if I decide to let them go you'll get first notification.

I asked him about that too, this was some of the backup tools from before he upgraded to snap-on. Now the tools that were on the line are the backup stuff and this was just getting in the way.

There are some markings on the ratchets from what look like a sharpie, I'm going to try and remove those today with some sort of solvent. Anyone have suggestions?

Mineral spirits or lacquer thinner with a qtip worked great for me to get the same sharpie marks off. I then oiled up the area afterwards.

I get off work at 2pm, I've gotten a couple good deals off craigslist simply because I'm the first one to show up. Comes with a price though, that being getting up at 4 in the frackin' morning

About the thin profile: you might want something thinner than bearing

I've tried both the bearing grease and RLL in the thin profiles. Both are too heavy. Use something light like 3n1.
