New to the Forum

Hey I just wanted to introduce myself my name is Frank and I just found this Forum. I'm already a member in the Cadillac Escalade Forum. I'm currently in SC but just bought a house in PA and finally got my 3 car garage I've been dying for. I only have to cars but have 2 small kids that take up a lot of garage space right now I have a 2 car garage 20x20 the normal size and we park both cars in it I have a Cadillac Escalade and my wife a Saturn Vue so not much room left in the garage. My question is since we are moving back to a cold weather state and I keep my car clean all the time I was wondering the best thing to put on the walls. The one side that enters the house and the ceiling is dry walled but the other side is just studded out. The hand held car washes have like that white vinyl or plastic on the walls that the water just runs off. I looked in Lowes and couldn't find anything but some one told me Home Depot carrys it. Has anyone done anything like this and is it even practical? Is it better the one side isn't sheet rocked yet and that will make it easier? Any help would be appreciated and look forward to finding a lot of ideas. Oh and also it just has those 2 regular light bulbs for light so I want to do some kind of fllourscent lighting in their.

i found some textured plastic/vinyl wall covering at HD a few years ago.

we use it for backsplashes behind the sinks and chop saw at the shop.

it's been holding up over 10 years in a heavy eq shop

Nice to meet you and welcome. If you are speaking of the material like used on bathroom walls at a McDonalds, you ase referring to FRP "Fiberglass Reinforced Panels" great stuff, holds up well. You would want to apply sheetrock to the walls in order to have a substrate to glue the FRP panels onto the walls. Out here we get it in White, Ivory and grey, shets come in 4 x 8, 4 x 9 , 4 x 10 and 4 x 12, Good luck.

I thought I saw it at Lowes or HD a few years back, a regulare lumber yard or building supplier is your best bet if you want the longer stuff.

Welcome. Insulate floors and doors (especially large overhead garage door) install gas heater, set thermostat to 58 degrees. On the cold winter days your wife will love you. You'll also find yourself having things to do in the garage all winter long.
