New to the forum

New guy from mid-TN here. Had lurked GJ for a while before I registered, been lurking a while since gathering ideas. Looking to build a nice garage with an attached apartment/small house after I sell my current house. Currently working on a layout for both and trying to gather ideas from some of the builds here on GJ to ensure I plan this new garage right.

Currently have a 30'x40'x12' rafter height pole barn with a concrete floor. It's roomy enough to pull into and work on my truck/motorcycles. Unfortunately, it's on the other end of the property, so it's not an option for parking my daily driver. It's been nice to have, but has shown me I need more room than 30'x40' to park a daily driver, my motorcycles and to have room for lift to be able to work on a project or three.

Welcome crom Ohio! It is amazing how quickly they fill up, isn't it!? I just built a 32' x 56'.......should have wet bigger! Go with the 14' side walls. Ya wont be sorry. Good luck.

Oh ya, I'm still alive! I was told the deer pic became an internet meme a year or two ago. Business keeps me close to home these days, but it could happen!

Twizted: happy to have another new member with a big garage/shop and that also knows one of our more knowledgeable members too. since this is your thread would you care to learn how to post up a few pictures of your shop/garage or some of your favorite old or new tools? if you can't use the paperclip just above where you are writing your posts just ask and we will be happy to help you learn that or another method to post pictures.

Can't say as I have any pictures of my current garage and it's disaster area status. It's been the center point of storage for getting my house ready to put on the market and is a definite disaster currently!
