Hi there! I'm thinking of building a detached garage in the side yard to be able to store more vehicles and have the room to work on them from time to time. I currently have a 24 x 24 attached garage that I realize is just too small, so I'm thinking of a 30 x 40 two bay with workshop space and a small office. This site looks like a great place to get advice, and I know I'll need all the help I can get.

I also hope to contribute to the site whenever it makes sense to do so.

REV: THIS SITE IS AMAZING and the talent pool just keeps getting better. sounds like maybe you are getting ready to maybe make a design and apply for a permit? need any help just ask and maybe start a build thread in Garage gallery with lots of pictures and good questions. since you are a new member asking questions on existing threads might get a few more eyes if you find threads of builds of garages you like.
